1. Overview

FitUtils ("we", "us", or "our") operates the website fitutils.com (the "Site"). This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

We are committed to minimizing data collection. All health calculations on this site run entirely in your browser. Your height, weight, and other personal health inputs are never transmitted to our servers.

2. Information We Collect

a) Automatically Collected Data (Analytics)

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Site. Google Analytics may collect:

• Pages visited and time spent on each page
• Referring website
• Browser type and version
• Operating system
• General geographic location (country/city level, derived from IP address)
• Device type (desktop, mobile, tablet)

This data is aggregated and anonymized. We do not use Google Analytics to track individual users or build personal profiles. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

b) Advertising (Google AdSense)

The Site may display advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site and other sites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.

Google's use of advertising cookies is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

c) IP Geolocation

Some of our calculators ask for your height and weight, so they need to know which unit system to show. The first time you open one of them, and only if we have no saved preference for you yet, your browser makes a single request to ipapi.co to determine your country code. This is used only to pick the default unit system (Imperial for US visitors, Metric for everyone else).

• We do not store your IP address on our servers.
• The geolocation request is made from your browser directly to ipapi.co, not through our servers.
• The result (your preferred unit system) is saved in your browser's localStorage, so the request is made once and not repeated on any other calculator or on later visits.
• Setting the unit system yourself with the Imperial / Metric switch also saves the preference, and no geolocation request is made after that.
• ipapi.co's privacy policy applies to this request. We have no access to the data they collect.

d) Health Inputs (Height, Weight, etc.)

Any health data you enter into our calculators (height, weight, age, etc.) is processed entirely in your browser using JavaScript. This data is never sent to any server — not ours, not a third party's. It exists only in your browser's memory while you have the page open.

3. Local Storage

We use your browser's localStorage to remember display preferences between visits: your unit system (Imperial or Metric), and your time format (12-hour or 24-hour) where a calculator shows times. This data is stored only on your device and is never transmitted anywhere.

The keys we write to localStorage are:

• fitutils_unit_system — value is either "imperial" or "metric"
• fitutils_time_format — value is either "12h" or "24h"

You can clear this at any time by clearing your browser's site data or local storage for fitutils.com.

4. Cookies

FitUtils itself does not set any cookies. However, third-party services we use (Google Analytics, Google AdSense) may set cookies on your device. These cookies are governed by Google's privacy policy.

You can manage or disable cookies through your browser settings at any time.

5. Third-Party Services

The following third-party services are used on FitUtils:

• Google Analytics — usage analytics. Privacy Policy
• Google AdSense — advertising. Privacy Policy
• Google Fonts — web fonts (Inter). Fonts are loaded from Google's CDN; your browser sends a request to Google when loading a FitUtils page. Privacy Policy
• ipapi.co — a single IP geolocation lookup the first time you open one of the calculators that needs a unit system, used only to choose the default. Privacy Policy
• jsDelivr / Chart.js — CDN-hosted JavaScript library used by some of our calculators to draw charts. jsDelivr may log requests per their standard CDN policies.

6. Children's Privacy

FitUtils is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through our Site, please contact us and we will take steps to remove it.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights under applicable privacy laws (such as GDPR or CCPA) including:

• The right to access personal data we hold about you
• The right to request deletion of your data
• The right to opt out of data sale (we do not sell data)
• The right to opt out of analytics tracking

Since we collect minimal data (primarily through Google Analytics), most requests will be directed to Google. To exercise your rights under Google Analytics, use the Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
